should i buy or make my own leaders for the fabri-fast system? i have tried improvising but my impatience has led me to a quasi disaster and i need to decide what to do. what should i use and what is the best answer for someone with limited skills like me? (and limited resources...) what is going to cost me less but yield me the best results in the end? i have to get this right!

There are a lot of people that make their own and do fine with them. The first leaders I used were home made. The leaders I have now I purchased. They were well worth the money. This is one purchase I do not regret at all.

I purchased mine with my hand quilting frame, I believe it's the Z44. They're great but I thought I saw somewhere at the time that they had the directions to make them.
You just need to use a heavier weight fabric that won't stretch like a cotton duck. Compare what the cost of the fabric would be, plus the time and trouble to make them, versus buying them.
