I'm working on my second quilting project.........placemats for a Christmas gift. They are all cut out and I think the measurements are fine but the seams aren't matching up!!
Soooooooooo I measured my seam allowances........hmmm a tad over 1/4. One more lesson learned. Rip,rip, rip.

I have tried tape on my machine and it's okay, but since I got a seam guide attachment I have much more consistent seam width. It helps hold the edge of the fabric where you want it. It is a metal piece that attaches to the throat plate and can be adjusted for whatever seam width you want. Just hold the fabric against the edge as you sew and it does the rest.
