Hand quilting question.
I have an antique or vintage quilt top that was hand pieced. It was done by one of my relatives but don't know which one. Each block has the teal blue pieces but the floral fabric varies a little. It is very large and measures 87" x 102". Does anyone know the name of this pattern?
I am not an good hand quilter but I think I would like to hand quilt this to "perhaps" enhance the hand piecing. Do you have any suggestions as to a good pattern for me to do on this block? It really is a beautiful block and I want to do it right.

I appreciate any suggestions and thank you for looking.

What a beautiful block!! I agree that hand quilting would enhance the beauty of it.
My first thought is an allover diagonal grid. I think that's what I would do.
Sorry but I don't know the name of it. I'm thinking Turkey Tracks but not sure.
Hope this helps a little

I agree with using cotton batting and I love the look of hand quilting 1/4" away from the seams. It's a very traditional way to quilt this type of block and the big plus is there is no need to mark anything if you are good at eyeballing the 1/4" seam allowance.
Sorry I don't know the name of this block.

Yes, use cotton batting, but not Warm and Natural. It is hard to hand quilt through. Pellon has a 90/10 cotton batting that is nice or Quilters Dream. Have hand quilted both of those, SO much easier on the hands!
