Has anyone made a barn quilt?
Have any of you painted a barn quilt? I would really love a small one and thought I would like to try making one.
If anyone has a tutorial or suggestions.... I would love to hear from you. Quilter 1234

I am getting ready to paintone. Just have to decide what to put on it. My husband said I should put a different pattern on each side. It is not going on a barn and he can fix it so I can turn it around when I want to.

We have a large new hay mow door, it`s facing the road, and has weathered 2 years now and I still don`t know where to start. Where does a person with no original talent of my own, get some sort of pattern? I`ll be watching here too!

I just had a man paint me one. He does it for a living. I chose the "Oregon Star". It's due at my house today. I am putting it on my detached garage. I will show a pic of it when it's up. To get ideas, go to his site...barnquiltsbydave.blogspot.com/

Its really very easy. I went to HD, bought a piece of precut square ?particle? board. Put several coats of white primer on it. Drew my quilt block on graph paper to scale, then transferred the pattern to the wood with a yardstick and pencil. I used blue painter's tape to tape off one section at a time, painted it, and let it dry for several hours. (the hardest part was waiting!) Easy peasy. You can google images of barn quilts for inspiration. There is a picture of mine on the picture board, along with several others from these talented artists! Have fun! I am letting my block "weather' this year, and will let it get nice and dry in the basement this winter, then seal it.
