help and advice needed (batting)
#1
I almost finished my quilt...when I realize the line where I added the extra batting....is beeing noticed....
Now I have to rip (reep?) a whole secction in order to "repair it"
Any help or advice on "how to add an extra batting" (when the width is not wide enough)....would be greatly apreciated....so the problem won't repeat itself in farther quilts.....
I am working like in the stone age period...without any frame, on the table of my living room (very long)........
I know I can count on you...Don't be shy...and don't be lazy....

Thanks

Usually, you cut your pieces kind of zig zaggy so that the mesh together instead of butting up in a straight line. If you have trouble sewing the pieces together by machine, try slipping tissue paper under the wo sections and that should help the feed dogs feed it through.

overlap the 2 pieces of batting, then cut a curvy line through the overlap, remove the srap from both sides and the 2 big pieces should butt up with a perfect fit, I then lace it up with long stitches by hand .

I also saw a lady on tv who said she used a lightweight fusible interfacing on one side then did a wide zig zag stitch by machine on the other. She said the interfacing helped stabilize it for the stitching. But I've never tried it that way.
