Help! I need to make two small gifts for gnieces - ages 4 and 7

I am limited in imagination and $
Anyone have a suggestion for a small Christmas pressie?
I could do a doll quilt for the younger, but what for the older one?
She always wants to do the "big girl" things and is quite a big girl...
If you can think of fast and easy, I'm open to all suggestions...
Thanks,
MJ

How about a fleece blanket? Trim to even up the edges, "hem" on the sewing machine or serger -- and you're done. And since the girls are small, about 1 1/2 yds. should be plenty big. WalMart has some really "girly" stuff (Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Disney princesses, etc.) for $7.+ a yard.
For the younger one, make a tote and fill with stuff from the dollar store like books, coloring books, crayons, etc. In the older one's tote, you can find other "grown up" girlie stuff at the dollar store, too -- chap stick, bubble bath, etc.
Have fun!!

These are great ideas! Thanks!
I'm going to check with Mommy about coming to see me for an afternoon to make pillowcases...they live about 50 miles away, but this is a good possibility.
I like the tote bag filled with goodies, too. I could go to Dollar Tree and fill with some rainy day goodies.
