Help identifying a quilt pattern
I was wondering if this type of quilt has a general name. I have seen 2 similar layouts but have not been able to find the one I really want at the magazine it was in. the basic pattern isnt too difficult but the layout is more what I am concerned with being a somewhat beginner.
thanks for any help I can get...

I don't think there is any generic name for this pattern since it is such a simple block. On Blockbase, it is called "Interlocked Squares" but it has three strips instead of two strips of fabric used in the design.

it is a simple 4 unit square. but each unit is half one color and half another.they look to be a 4 inch finished unit, with it having two colors. To make the 4inch unit u will need two pieces which will be the same size. to get these you cut 4 1/2 inch blocks , then you cut these in half. you do this with both of the colors u are using. so if u cut one square of each color, and cut both in half , u will have 4 pieces. then u sew the 2 colors together and u will have 2 4inch units. You make 4 of these units for each 8 inch block. then lay them out to get the pattern . Does this make sense?

thanks so much for everyones help. the magazine was a British publication called pandqmagazine.com but I searched through what I could see of back issues and didn't find it. I'm gonna play around and see if I can get a good layout.
