How do you display your quilts?
I have been going to furniture stores, flea markets and second hand shops looking for an attractive way to display the few quilts that I have made. I have 3 quilt racks so I am looking for something different from them. I'm looking for something not too big, shelves wide enough to hold a folded quilt, maybe something with a glass front and sides so I can admire the quilts and keep the dust off of them. My husband keeps finding these huge intertainment centers (you know the kind - that back in the 80's held our t.v's , vcr's and record players) but I want something simple. What do you have?

I have a couple older quilts that I have displayed on quilt hangers/curtain rods on the wall. Right now, the others that I've finished are on beds of the owners. I like being able to see the ones on the wall.

I have seen those units to store quilts, kind of like glass boxes but really fine pieces of furniture. Someone made them locally here but doesn't anymore. Hopefully someone has some contact info to share with you.

I have 3 quilt hangers for on the wall of different sizes...they have a rod to hold the quilt, and also a shelf above to display items...I had a friend's dad who did woodworking make them. I also have a more traditional quilt rack that holds several quilts. I often will drape a quilt over a table, or over an old wooden trunk I have, and also have several tablerunners I put out seasonally. I would like to get a ladder type of quilt display....have seen those and like how they look. I have a cabinet that is full of video tapes...from when my boys were younger. I think I will be cleaning it out soon and then will have 4 shelves that I could layer quilts in. The cabinet does have a class door, though I have fabric behind it now to hide the videos.

My guy makes me hangers that hold a rod. I just tell him the size I need. He's getting pretty good at it. Others are on my beds and couches usually with a fur baby on them. When I sit I have to fight for a quilt to snuggle under.

Here you go ... I saw this guys stuff on his booth at the AQS DesMoines show this past fall. The workmanship was very good. These are lovely pieces and I thought they were reasonably priced. I know he said he will do custom work ... so worth talking to him to get something the shape/size/design you want.
