How do you protect machine from a power surge in guild sewing class?
This weekend, our guild is sponsoring a sewing class held in the church gym. A heavy duty power cord is brought up in the center of 4 long tables with a power strip for plugging machines. So there are 4 sewers per power strip. I was told the power strip is not providing surge protection. Some people may have an iron also at their table setting.
Do I plug in my own power surge protector into the power strip? Please advise and thank you!

? for those bringing their own surge protector to a sewing class...
[QUOTE=debstoehr;7915394]I always take and use my own surge protector when I take my machine anywhere.
Will my surge protector be effective plugged into a power strip everyone uses?
Or
Would it be better to bring my own heavy duty power cord to run to my machine and iron and Ot light using my surge protector?
