How do you quilt your Twisters?
I've just completed the tops, sandwiched and basted (ala Sharon Shambers way) a pair of Twister quilts for my niece-in-law's upcoming twins.
I've bounced around both QB and images.google.com looking to see how people have quilted their Twister quilts, with very few results-- most of the images I've seen are only finished tops.
It appears there are three primary methods:
1. free-motion swirlies all over the quilt, which provides soft curves to an otherwise sharply-cornered geometric pattern;
2. stitch-in-the-ditch, which I kinda like but can't fathom exactly how to work my way across and through the quilt.
3. stitch 1/4" off the "ditch" which looks nice, and would probably be great if hand-quilting, but would be a pain in the neck for machine quilting. I don't have time to hand quilt this pair.
What have you Twister-makers done? And how'd you do it?
Many thanks!

The only twister quilts I've done were Christmas wreaths. I stippled the center and outside the twister blocks and did feathers around the 3" borders. It's hard to explain, wish I knew how to post pix on this new format so I could show you.

Terry Quilter, once you start typing your reply, you should see a bunch of icons above where you're typing. The third from the right is for "insert image". Click on that and follow the instructions.
GemState, yes, I've seen stippling around the "background" of twisters, and it does make the twisters pop out. It's very lovely. How did you quilt the twisters themselves?
