How do you rate yourself as a quilter?

My piecing and color selection are pretty good but mostly I have fun trying new things....and since I hate, hate, hate the layering and quilting part....I'm still very much a beginner there----and don't care!

I also have seen the fantastic quilts here> I am not a perfectionist but still think there are many areas to improve. There is NO way I will put my "masterpieces" on here so with you, Brenda K, they'll take them up above to keep warm in God's paradise!!
:XD: Is there anything below "SUCK". After seeing the quilts you all have made I don't think I will ever show mine. Maybe in abut 50 ot 60 years, but don't figure I'll last that long. My family and friends will just have to take below sucky quilts. BrendaK[/quote]

Addicted! Ok just being funny. I guess I would have to say advanced as I do most techniques. I love designing too, and rarely use a commercial pattern. I have been at this for 45 years though so guess that has something to do with it.

I have always thought that "at least I am improving each time". However, I have had quite a number of people approach me lately to ask me if I would quilt their quilts. I mentioned that there were two other people who do it professionally in the town and they said that they like my quilting better. So now I am starting to not be so nervous when I do the quilting for someone else but still find myself on edge that it be a good job - so I suppose I am at the crossroad of getting good.

I cannot believe anyone who has quilted several years can rightly be called a "newbie" or an "inexperienced" quilter. Give your egos a boost and say you are intermediates, at least!!! Just because we are not all artist with our quilts does not make us "newbies"--After your 3 or 4th quilt, it's time to give yourself a promotion. IMHO
