How much fabric?
#3
If I like it a lot, maybe 3 yards, unless it's on sale then maybe 4 or 5 yards. I try to keep a stock of blenders on hand so no matter what I buy I can use it.
Some times I just have to wait for the fabric to tell what it wants to be. lol :-)

I'm terrible - I used to buy at least 3 yards/meters, but I do have quite a good stash now; and am also buying better quality fabrics now so they cost more ... am more often now picking up 2 yards/meters. Unless I really love it, then will get 3 - 5.
Can't even get single fat quarters - seem to have to pick up two of each.
I try to limit myself to only the fabrics that make me drool - but gosh, there are soooo many :)

personally, I take one of the dog's coller and leash with me and after it's in the bag I can always say it followed me home.. Nha, it doesn't work, but at least I do try to be inventive. I pretty much get at least 2 yards even if I know I only need 1. Sometimes that's the fabric that you only buy one, need more, go back and it's sold out. So as of right now I am ready for the fabric intervention that my kids want to go into. Then they see the newest fabric and tell me never mind because they haave something they would love for me to make for them... Sale time.. 50% off.. I always try for as much of the 108" backing fabric. and always at least three yards. To me that's the best way to built that particular expensive fabric into a very nice cushion.
