When you shop for material without a specific project in mind, how much material do you usually buy? I am new to quilting, about 3 months.
I saw some material yesterday reduced down to $1.50 a yard. I have no idea what I would make out of it, but I keep on thinking about it. I even dreamed about it last night so know I really want it. It just seems to call to me.
I am trying to get my husband to drive me back there today as I can't drive. It is about 30 miles away. How much would you buy?
I know I should have bought it yesterday, but wasn't sure what I would use it for. But at the price, I have to go back. I was thinking (because of the price) about 4 yards. I figure I could always find something to use it for. It is white with pink flowers.
What is the average amount of material you would buy?

I buy 3 yards of something I like or will use as blender fabric, 7 yards or more for backing, and 1 yard of fabric that will be good for accent color. If the fabric is good cotton then you can't not afford to stock up at those prices. Buy for backing if nothing else.
