If the batting instructions say stitch ever ten inches and I have one 13 inch spot

If the batting instructions say stitch every ten inches and I have one 13 inch spot in each fussy cut block....do I absolutely have to stitch in there? I have stitched in the ditch and it scares me to stitch across the picture (Corvettes). Let me see if I can find the picture of the top...

The instructions are for the bare minimum amount of quilting. One lady at guild brought her quilt to show after washing and not quilted enough....the batt had clumped up in those areas. She had to make slits in the backing & pull out the mess & re-insert batting & quilt enough.
Great looking quilt, BTW

I agree with this. You really won't like how it holds up with too little quilting. Like the suggestion of going around the cars.
