The infamous pegboard and all of it's fun little implements!
Hello!
I finally got a nice size 4x6 piece of white pegboard hanging in my 'room'. Now the search is on for all of the correct size gadget-dolittle-thing-a-ma-bobs. Of course, a trip to ace hardware....in the rain...no problem as I am on a mission! Now they only had some of this and some of that. So I spent too much on that and this. I'm talking about those little hanger push in metal do higgies. Ya know, those things your hubbies hoard and cherish!
So after much moola speant, I am still finding space on my new big white super dooper hanger pegboard thingy. Alas, I a running short on those little metal creatures and am devising a way to get much more online. There is something strange in some of those packets, I must warn y'all. They are small and black and look like little BATS! I guess they are suppose to permanently hold the metal thingys to their proper perspective holes. But I am only at the beginning of my organizational journey and want nothing to to with those batty things, I even refuse to read their directions. They are captured in a ziplock bag and now are hanging on their own little metal do-jobber, encased in an airtight prison, until called out for duty.
So, has anyone else been through this fun dilemma? Any and all advice is welcomed! (not bat jokes, please...lol)

Hey...those bats are great! They're easy to get out of the holes...just slide a small flat screwdriver under one side and sort of twist and they pop right out. Not permanent at all but they definitely stabilize all those doohickeys (which I also love). I have a 4' x 8' sheet of pegboard on the wall in my walk-in sewing closet...it's great. I just rearranged the other day (to accommodate new purchases, of course). It's great to be organized!

I have a two 2 x 4 pegboards and absolutely love them both. One is devoted to my rulers (the longer ones are hung at the bottom) and the other is devoted to my quilt machine items (see my avatar). You can't go wrong with pegboard.

ROL -- yes, those little bat thingies DO keep the metal doohickies from falling off. It won't take you long to start cussing the metal doohickies if you don't use them! They fall out SO easily otherwise! And those black thingies are easy to get off -- I don't use a screwdriver (never one where I need it anyway) -- I push in on one side and pull on the other side....it'll pop out.
BTW - I JUST, 2 days ago, had my DH hang a white pegboard in my shop and I was dealing with the little black thingies and the metal doohickies!

I bought all my accessories at: http://www.manicanstorefixtures.com/index.html
Click on Slat Wall accessories-just make sure the pieces will fit. I thought the prices were pretty good.

I recently put up peg board in my sewing room. I, too, have the metal doohickies, but never saw the little black bat thingies at Lowes. Is there a "name" on the baggie with the little black bat thingies?
