It's Official. Quilts Are In!
I've been snooping around all of the home decor sites and magazines lately because I'm in the middle of furnishing a new, vacation rental that we own. So many of the sites and periodicals have been pushing all of the mid-century, Swedish, Danish, modern stuff. A rolled arm sofa is soooooo out in a Millennial's eyes and don't even talk about rocking chairs. Geesh! Imagine my surprise when I read on one of the sites that quilts are cool. I just opened another magazine that had a big spread on quilts. OMG...Quilts are in! (They want a lot of money for them too.)
Gosh! I never knew they were out.

I'm rocking my babies...
I received a wooden rocking chair from dmil at my baby shower in 1988. Rocked two babies in it. It has their teeth prints in the arm. The rocking chair was one of the items I took to her baby shower in 2016. She still rocks our grandson each night at story time. It will come back to me some day.

When I had my first baby in 2016 my mother-in-law gave me her old rocking chair that she used for her three babies. I use it all the time! It's my favorite chair. I'm glad quilts are coming back into style. Nothing says home like quilts.

Just because you read it in a magazine, or on-line, doesn't mean it's so, or even popular opinion for those with money to spend. When I dig into who puts these studies together it's always someone with something to gain, or the content is dictated by advertising dollars. Bottom line- don't believe everything` you read.

I love quilts and I think they make a home feel homey when they are on the couch or the back of a rocking chair. I have my grandmothers rocking chair and I can still feel close to her when I sit in it. I have a quilt over the back of it too. Quilts are expensive to buy and that is why I enjoy making my own for me and family members.
