I bought material the other day to make my sons quilt and last night I happened to think I did not get the backing material. Back to Hancock's this morning. I got the bolt, the onlyone they had, and took it up to have it cut. Another woman came in wanting the same material and told the woman she wanted all she had left of the blue. It was the blue batik with the gold on the back. I bought 3 yards and she took the rest. There was just 1 1/4 yards left and she was mad that I didn't half it with her. Sorry lady but I needed it.
They are having a big sale and I got a panel with four stocking on it. Instead of making it just two front and back stockings I am going to make 4 with different backgrounds. These are big stockings adn I got the whole panel for $3.50.

Good for you. I wouldn't have shared either, unless I was just stash building.
You just gave me an idea, maybe for next year, to get a stocking panel and put them on a quilt like pockets for cards or something. Or just decoration.

How rude of her - I wouldn't have shared either, especially since you had a legitimate use for what you were buying. I just got back from a trip to Hancock's - should have known better than to go on a Sat. - only one reg. would work and the line was LONGGGGGG!

I had something similar happen to me a few years ago. I was in Hancock fabrics getting some fabric. I found some coordinating floral prints. They were very cheap and I told the lady I would take what was left. As I was walking away, another customer walked up to me and said " I could smack you for taking all of that." And that is a word for work quote. I was shocked and pissed. If she had of just asked nicely, I would have gladly let her have it. I only wanted it because it was pretty and super cheap. But after what she said, there was no way I would give her any. I could not believe that someone could have the nerve to say that.

I told her I was making the quilt for my son in the Navy and the woman cutting the material said she had a son in the Navy too, and that he was stationed in San Diego. She never said I apprciate your sons or anything. I just wished I had bought it all.
