Hi everyone,
We recently had a young girl (15 1/2) from our neihborhood die of Ewings sarcoma cancer. We have a group that is donating things to our local children's hospital, in her honor. I thought about doing some quilts, and wondered how to go about doing the label on something like that.
My first thought was to do it like this: This quilt was made with love by ______________ from city and state. Donated to Primary Children's Hospital in honor of ___________________. Any other suggestions are always welcome.

I tried to do a search for this info that was posted last week and didn't find it. Maybe someone who posted in that topic will remember and chime in here.
I think your ideas are good........must add Date!

I am sorry your loss. In this case your label is very appropriate. Our quilt ministry group at church is named for a young boy that died and our quilt labels have the name of the group, in memory of (boy's name) and the month year. We had labels embroideried and decided mo/yr was best. You might check w/hospital for their requirements of donated quilts. Ours are all 100% cotton everything, no glues, sprays, etc. used and are washed before given.

On donation quilts, I never put my name. The reason is for security. Some charity/donation quilts wind up being sold at garage sales/Ebay. My sugestion is as follows:
This quilt was made in honor of __________ by loving hands from city and state. Donated to Primary Children's Hospital on date.

I agree with RUSewing. I wouldn't put my name on the label. You never know where the quilt will end up. I would even be afraid to put the persons name who the quilt was made to honor. Perhaps I would put the first name only. I would be sure to include the date and the hospital name.
