This is my first post- have been reading and enjoying posts and pictures. I have a beautiful machine that I bought for sewing and quilting (Brother NX 2000). Thought I would do FM quilting using this machine. I know of a Voyager 17 longarm machine that is being sold for $2000, with frame, stitch regulator, etc. It is a used machine but the owner says it does not have alot of use since it is more or less a one person machine( fewer tension issues etc.) Thinking about whether to take the plunge with a longarm and does anyone have any thoughts on the Voyager. I did test drive one in a quilt shop a few months ago and was pleased with the ease- however, the bobbin thread ran out and the shop people made no move to replace it so that I could continue. (By the way, the owner of the used Voyager will set it up so I can test it all I want.)

Nice machine, average price. At least from what I have read during my search for a machine. It has a long enough quilting space you don't have to roll as often and you can do most on block sizes without rolling if you are doing work on a single block at a time. You need to join the Yahoo! groups related to longarm quilting.

I have a Voyager I bought new in March, 2010. After practicing on it and figuring out the tension (every longarm will have the same learning curve on tension), I started taking in quilts for others in August. I've done several and currently have 1 on the frame with 4 backed up to do. After I get this paid down a bit, I'm moving up to a bigger machine. If I were doing only my own quilts, this would be all I'd ever want. And the price is a steal.
