The many ways to use your iron...
I was steam pressing a block this morning, trying to stretch it a scant 1/8" to, "make it fit." I started thinking of the many ways to use an iron in quilting. What are some of your hot tricks with the old iron?

hmmm... melting crayons to color fabric for a quilt? Had a class at a guild meeting, and it's really fun... http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Quilt...s=crayon+quilt

Besides using to to press seams, the only other use I know of is being a door stop.

I was thinking like francie yuhas when i saw the title. Cooking appliances weren't allowed in the dorms when I was there. We "fried" hamburgers on our iron, wrapping the hamburger in aluminum foil, putting the iron down on it one side at a time.
