Memories on the back of a DWR
I would like to send material and pens to special people so they can write a message that I can incorporate on the back of a DWR quilt that I'm making for my daughter. My questions are as follows:
1. Is this a sappy ridiculous idea?
2. What kind of material do I use?
3. What kind of pens?
4. Should I get a grip and just make the quilt for heavens sake?

It's a great idea. If possible, draw light lines to represent your seam allowances on the fabric before you send it, and ask everyone to keep their writing inside the lines. Also a great idea to include postage paid return envelopes, as Ptquilts suggests.

I also think it's a great idea. This has been discussed many times on the board. YOu can do a search. Here's a good one:

That sounds like a great, very personal idea. Iron the fabric to freezer paper to stabilize it and mark the seam allowance on it, so message won't get cut off when blocks are sewn. Sending the pigma micron pens to each person will be expensive. Return envelopes is a good idea.
