Muslin update
#1
My last topic was about muslin I found on the Wal-Mart website and if it was the best deal. I ended up buying the bleached muslin from the website and wanted to give an update as a few were concerned about the what the quality would be like.
A few had also told me to prewash, which I do anyways, but I definatly had to prewash for this. The muslin was so thin that if I held it up I could see right through it. The weave tightened up once it was prewashed and its not see through.
I think its a decent fabric and will work for what I'm using it for (something to back the stained glass applique I will be doing).

I buy the premium permanent press muslin at WM and it is excellent. Tight weave and good heft, much better then the regular thin muslin. It cost more but still inexpensive. I have several utility quilts with it used for backing and it has held up great.
