There are some corrections for that pattern, I'm not sure if your tree is part of them? Scroll to the bottom of this page.

If that doesn't address it, I would try one of two things. 1) Make the block out of scrap fabric and see if it fits, or 2) email the designer.

I emailed them and to date I still have no reply, but here is a picture of my progress so far.

Just a thought. It looks like you are only about half finished with the block to the left of the tree. When the top and roof of the house is finished, it will be as tall as the tree and the tree won't look so outsized. Looking at the original finished picture of the pattern on the website. Maybe all is ok?
