Necchi Supernova Sewing Machine
Do I have to have a cam in the machine in order for it to sew? If I do, which one is it? I do not have a manual for this machine so am working in the dark here. When plugged in the light can be turned on and off but cannot get the machine to run at all. Can someone tell me what I need to do in order to get this baby to work?

I have a manual. I think if you send me a private message, I can copy a page or two for you. No, you don't need a cam for a straight stitch, just the decorative stitches. I'll try to scan something for you here...be patient with me...or someone else will pop up and answer before I get back...either way, you've come to the right place

So, the light turns on...so there's power to the machine, but the motor makes no noise when you push the ...is it a knee control like mine? Is it moving? Mine was a bit sluggish when I got it, I sprayed it with tri-flow to loosen it up. I really have no idea...it sounds like it's electrical, but if the light works...is there separate power to the motor? Are there any loose wires?

Don't know this machine, but to wind a bobbin, some machines require pulling "out" a part of the hand wheel. If it is pulled out, the needle would not go up and down. Try pushing it "in" toward the machine and see if that helps?>?

But the motor would still make noise. I have this machine. You should start this thread over in the vintage sewing machine area and see if any of the vintage folks have an idea. They may have missed it here in Quilting. It's amazing the knowledge they have of vintage machines. Post a picture along with your thread.
