Need advice on choosing sewing machine furniture
#3
I got the gidget 1. It was 1/4 of an inch too narrow for my machine. My brother cut it down. It shook when I sewed. It is heavy (I lift weights and am in good shape but it weighs more than I expected). I have a babylock which has an irregularly shaped base. Need a custom insert for it and have no idea how to get one. I returned to using my dining room table. Too bad you don't live closer. I would just give you my table if you wanted it.
If I were to do it all over again, I would get the sew ez table with a custom insert that they offer.
Sorry. I am not usually so negative.

If your Gidget shakes, you might want to check and see if everything is where it should be underneath it. I had a brace that wasn't in place that caused the same problem with basically the same table. I emailed Arrow who makes my table and they were very kind and helpful in their response. I felt a little silly when I found out it was an operator error.

I got this Arrow cabinet and love it http://www.allbrands.com/products/ab...ogle&ovtac=CMP . Closes up when not in use and is used as an end table of sorts. If you shop around you can find a decent price for it.

I'm cheap and never buy anything new if I can get something used and make it work. I bought a desk at the HFH Restore for 15.00. It is 36x60. I am going to make a cutout to set my machine in. It has lots of surface for handling a large quilt. I think the prices for sewing tables is outrageous, but like I said, I'm cheap. :)
