Need Embroidery card reader help
I have a friend with a janome 9000, she wants to figure out how to save the embroidery cards she has to a stick so she can also use them on her new BabyLock. Is there a reader or converter of some sort that will allow her to do this.
I have been searching google and yahoo but don't think I am asking the right questions.
Anyone here know enough about embroidery software to lead me in the right direction?
thanks in advance. cw

Some designs are not able to be saved from the device they are on. I don't know about the Janome designs, but I know some of the cards that came with my Brother machines can't be saved anywhere, even on the machine.

The good news is - if you have a Babylock with a usb you can download designs to a computer in your format and organize these in folders by categories. There are free designs offered at several sites, I like embroiderydesigns.com and others like emblibrary.com. Brother cards in .pes format work for the Babylock though!
Save your wonderful Janome 9000 for regular sewing and a backup embroidery machine. I know it is a shame that designs are not compatible, but the newer designs are so much better than they were for the 9000. Your Janome cards can be sold on ebay if you don't have the machine any longer. Some people are looking for them instead of buying a new machine.
I do enjoying using embroidery software. I had the old 3D Embroidery Suite and now the Janome older Digitizer Pro. Those programs allow me to change the format of designs and combine words and designs together. I can size them smaller or larger before it goes to the machine. Since I have a Babylock and a Janome it helps me share my designs.
Enjoy your new machine and start your new library of designs.

If I am understanding your question correctly, your friend has a machine that has memory cards. She wants to take the designs from the card and put it on a flash drive as well as convert the format so that her new babylock can sew the designs out. If this is correct. The amazing box max will do the job. Should be able to find it on ebay. Best of luck.
