Need help with "Quillow"

I need your help! I want to make a lap quilt for my teenage niece, and I would like it to be a quillow. How do I free motion quilt it, with that pocket on the back? Quilt around it? Do straight line quilting and again, quilt around it. Attach the pocket after it has been quilted? Help, Please!

I machine quilt straight lines starting with the bottom edge of the pocket all the way down the quilt on each side of the pocket then measure evenly from the quilt edge to the pocket and find the center and quilt straight lines all the way down and it is finished i dont try fancy quilting just to much stuff and you want it to stay soft and plyable to turn in and out of the pocket

Was thinking about this the other day - I am thinking christmas for my neices.... anyway my Grandmother made a whole pile of these years ago, and quilted lines straight down from the bottom of the pocket, then across about every length of the pocket. The way it worked was when you folded it up you folded on the lines and it was a perfect fit. but you'd have to be sure to use batting with really wide quilting distances.
