Need Tips for a New Pattern
#1
Hi All,
I'm a relatively new quilter and I have been commissioned by a friend to put together a quilt from a pattern she saw and loved. I told her I would do it, but I'm a little intimidated after getting the pattern in the mail. I'm wondering if any of you have done this pattern and would be able to share any words of wisdom or tips that would help me!
I was thinking of making up some practice blocks with scraps I have to start with, just to get the hang of them.
Any hints would be helpful - I'll include a pic of the pattern.
Thanks in Advance,
Rebecca

just look up snailstrails in www.quilterscache.com
you just have to watch your colors. keep a photo nearby when making your first block. and after that, use the practice block as your "template" to watch placement of your fabrics. good luck. you have a lot of them to do.

I looked at Quilter's Cache, but didn't find the Snail's Trail block... maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?
Thanks for the responses!

Basically just a Snail's Trail block. I have them in one of my original designs. They look intimidating but they're actually pretty easy. You start off with a four patch in the middle and then add a triangle to each side to make a bigger block and add a triangle to each side to get an even bigger block. Its simple. Just watch and make sure you're putting on the right colored triangle. Have the image of the block handy for reference. But once you've done a couple blocks you'll get the set up.
