Needle Size for Binding
#3
I honestly have no idea about the number size needle I use because once I buy them, I take them out of the packaging and stuff them into my pin cushion!!
I can tell you that I use a very short needle, but it has a fine point. I use the shortest needle I can find, I find I have more control with them for smaller stitches (my hand stitching is very very tiny). I think the one I use is about 1.5" long.

i use #10 milners, sharps or straws-which ever is handy when i start my binding- usually sharps (milners & straws are the same thing- just called differently by different companies (John James-straws---Roxannes-milners)

I usually just use my betweens - either #11 or #12 if they are handy...which they usually are at that point as I'm a hand quilter. If not, whatever needle happens to be handy. I'm not real picky when it comes to needles for that purpose.
