is it me or do your needles bend when you sew on the binding on the back/front. i just finished one and i ended with a very curved little needle.was just wondering if this has happened to others.

I like John James straw needles for appliqué, but I found that Roxanne straw needles seem to be sturdier and thicker, so that's what I use when i start getting curves.
How many layers are you trying to sew through?

I have found that I have gradually bent a lot of different needles, not so much with the John James and I have used the one in particular a whole lot. Here I thought I was stronger than I thought to bend the needle, must be lots of strong ladies around, that is great.

I tried Klasse' (1st time) needles on the quilt that I finished yesterday and not only did they bend they also broke (3 of them to be exact). I have never had this problem with other brands.
