New Orleans Puzzle Pattern for full quilt
#23
Yes. I didn't find the directions very user friendly. Three of us did it together. One was pretty new to quilting, another worked in the LQS and I have been quilting for over 20 years and sewing for longer. All of us struggled and only 2 of us finished. The LQS one hasn't finished hers.

when i googled it yesterday, i found this photo of a table topper made from the New Orleans Puzzle. if you look very closely, you can see how it's constructed.

There is a good Tutorial on You Tube. It is called "Sew Easy Strata Star". It is almost Identical to the one we are talking about here but a different name. It uses 7 strips instead of 8 and the girl shows you exactly how to cut the strips and how to sew them together. I have a pattern for New Orleans Puzzle (same design) but the Instructions are so difficult to understaned so I found this "Sew Easy Strata Star Tutorial" on You Tube and shows it SOOOOO easy to do.

If the Star Spin pattern scares you you might try this one first to get acquainted with the idea. Star Spin is not really that hard to make, I made a couple of smaller size wall hangings, no problem. Just think of the pattern as another strip piecing project! With beautiful colors, of course. Well, the large Star Spin is still on my to-do list, I have the pattern but not the fabrics.

It's a beautiful design. There's one version of it at Oregon Treasures:
