Newbie question: Will my quilt hold up if I quilt the top with metallic embroidery thread?
#1
Hi,
I need help planning my next project. My husbands aunt gave me some several hand painted quilt panels a couple years ago. She passed away last week and I thought that making a quilt out of one for her grandson who is getting married this summer would be nice.
I would like to outline the details of the painting with gold metallic thread. Then I figured why stop there...what if all the quilting was done in the gold.
Will it hold up? Can it be dried in the dryer?
Thanks

Superior threads makes a poly called Halo that has a metallic woven into it. You get sparkle, strength and machine washable. Plus it is sparkly in all different colors so you can add that metallic look to this panel and maybe compliment the colors in it better then just with gold metallic.
