Got the email, too. I went to their show in Columbus a few years ago. It is a shame that they are having to dissolve. There were benefits to guilds that were NQA members such as breaks on insurance when holding a quilt show. I enjoyed their magazine, too.

I know they were different, but perhaps there was too much similarity/conflict/competition with the American Quilters Society which I believe was larger?

This is from their FB page - a link to a newsletter explaining it all. So sad. I was a member for years.....

I volunteered at Columbus for many years and joined at the shows. When they announced they where moving to Arkansas due to infighting, I didn't rejoin. There where some with superior attitudes involved. Pity loved it.

The show at AR was very good but the attendance was very low. There was no advertising of the show at all. If I hadn't been a member of the NQA I would not have know it was in AR. I got the impression from vendors that they were very disappointed in the turn out, their booth fees were high and most traveled a long distance. The area guilds didn't know in time to get buses arranged for groups. It was lack of organization and leadership for sure.
