Obsessed or do I fit in with the "quilting" crowd?

Oh yes, When my sons asks why fabric is hanging on the door, over other furniture I tell them it is still talking or has not started talking. They look at me like it has to be a woman thing. But really it is a quilting thing.

My question is do the rest of you quilters do the same thing? I will go into a fabric shop and just purchase fabric because I like it (like a kid in a candy store), with absolutely no quilt / home decor idea or design in mind. I always think, "I will find something to use it in". My fabric will sit there until suddenly something pops into my head. I normally let the fabric inspire me, versus planning something out. Sorry so long.... just wondering if all of this is common. :)

They have things besides fabric at WalMart, etc? :)[/quote]
Well, of course they do, silly - I know for sure that they have thread and seam rippers. One time, long time ago probably, I think I bought something else there, but for the life of me I can not remember what it was.

It is like a addiction, and like any addiction, it can get u into trouble! I try and go to a shop ONLY once a week! It is OK to not buy anything and just look. It gives u good " daydream " material :) I'm putting my daughter thru college and have to watch my pennies. If I had plenty of cash, I would have plenty of fabric!!! lol if u can afford it, go for the glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
