As I was working on a small panel baby quilt, my new machine "dripped" oil (?) onto the top as I quilted it. At least I think that's what happened. Any ideas on how to remove them so I can gift the quilt would be so appreciated. You all have been so helpful & instructional in ways you cannot begin to imagine. I know you will give me ideas on how to fix this! Thanks, Sybil

Hi Sybil,
I'm so sorry this has happened to your quilt.
If the Dawn dish soap does not work then I would try Grandma's Secret Spot Remover. It can be found at Hancock Fabrics and JoAnns etc. Also do not dry in the dryer until you get the spot out, simply use a washcloth with the soap and then rinse well, and let air dry. You can launder in the washer and spin, but don't put in dryer until checking once it has completely dried. You may not be able to tell if the spot is gone until dry. Once you are sure the spot is gone the you can launder normally but not until then.

My daughter did a queen sized Sonbonnet sue quilt a couple of years ago. She had alot of time invested in it. She found a spot that had oil on it and she doesn't know how it got there but she was unable to get it to come out and so she appliqued a little tiny blue bird over oil spot and then placed a few more randomly all over the quilt so that it makes it look like they were supposed to be there.
