OK, cutting bias for your binding,

Do you do this, or just cut strips the length of your fabric and use that as binding? What works for you? Is there really that big a difference which way you go if you are just doing a square quilt with no curve edges?

I usually bind with straight edge binding. Unless you are binding around curves or many corners straight cut works just fine. Bias binding has more stretch to it and should be used for any edges with curves. I have friends that always use bias binding but many of my quilting buddies will just use the straight for "normal" quilts.

I used straight cut binding for straight edge bindings and use bias cut binding for wavy edge bindings. I have only done 1 scalloped edge binding, but the bias edge binding really made a big difference as far as workability.
