Hi all!
I've been a lurker on this board for a few months (my mom introduced me — we love quilts!), and I was hoping you might help me. Sorry ahead of time if this is the wrong thread, or if I've violated any board rules.
My name is Dusty Shull, and I'm a reporter at The Paducah (Ky.) Sun newspaper (http://paducahsun.com). I'm in charge of our special section "Paducah Patchwork", our guide to Quilt Week and the AQS quilt show coming up. It includes information about the show, feature stories, local store ads and ideas that can make your week more enjoyable. We usually have plenty out and about to find.
I wanted to include a section on simple advice from you experienced Paducah show-goers — like wear comfy shoes, leave the hubby at the hotel, best restaurants, etc. — for the newbie attendees. I could borrow some of your advice from a previous thread, but we'd like to include your real name and where you're from.
Feel free to private message me or send me an email at [email protected] with anything you'd like to contribute. I will NOT connect you with your avatars in publication so you can keep your privacy.
We're excited about having you all in our city!
Thanks,
Dusty L. Shull, Paducah Sun reporter

Hello and Welcome from Maryland! I hope to come to Paducah in the future. I know I will not make this years show, but I will at some point! This is a great Idea for newcomers to the Quilt Show. Where to stay, prices, quilt shops, eaterys, restuarants, other attractions! And yes what to expect to wear, weather and comfort. :) I will look at the Sun paper in Paducah online and see what comes about!

I've never been there for quilt week, but I would think that information about what is off the beaten path would be great. When we stop there (non-quilt show week) we always find out of the way places - some quilting, some not - whch we had never seen before. And maybe some info about what husbands can find to do - fishing trips, golf, motorcycle shops. Every husband who comes brings in more $$ for Paducah.
