Ped Basic?
I bought this software so I could download embroidery patterns from my computer to the embroidery card.
It wont do anything.
Can you only use the designs that are in the Ped Basic?
Ive downloaded a bunch of red work designs to my computer that I really want to use.
Im not computer literate and it is driving me crazy.

scroll down on this page for a description of what your software should do http://www.brother-usa.com/HomeSewin...x#.UI7yGIbid0k

Can you find the redwork files on your hard drive? Are they single files or are they in a compressed (zipped) folder? Many embroideries that you download from the internet are compressed and need to be expanded before you can use them.
You should be able to transfer the files to the card.

If your sewing machine is a brother then the files need to be in Pes or Ped. Those are what brother and baby lock "understands". If the files are in another format, they you need to have a program the transfers it the the format your machine can read.

The design files must be .pes or .pen to be used in Brother, Babylock, Simplicity, Bernina, White (and maybe another machine brand.) You can unzip and move or copy to your desktop and they will be viewable on the 'basic' page. I don't like to clutter my desktop, so I've kept folders of designs in "My Documents'. You can choose hoop size on the opening page--if the design is too large for the hoop size you've chosen, you will not be able to write it to the card. The process is to move the designs to the right side of the page until the bar shows 100%--that's all you can 'write' to the card. Next time you proceed the same and a message tells you the card will be erased. That's okay--you still have the designs in your computer. Have you read the owners manual? Sounds like foreign language, but go slow--one step at a time. You will love it.

Thank all of you for your replies.
I have the cheapest Brother machine the pe500. It uses a card. Wish it had a disk instead.
The downloads are all pes and ziped. I dont know how to unzip them.
The manual for ped basic only has a two page instruction that dosnt say anything about downloaded files, only how to use the patterns in the ped basic.
