Will it come out fine? Does it have to wear off?
I'm quilting the TIC baby quilts. I traced a design on tracing paper and sewed on the paper. When I reoved the paper, I was shocked to find pencil showing on the thread! It's on light fabric! Before I sew another one--I want to know it'll come out. I can sew just off the line, but ON the line is what I want it to be.

Maybe redraw the design so that you can sew beside it?
Or use a ultra fine permanent marker on the next paper?
I have never had a pencil mark not wash out of the kids clothes...tshirts, cotton, cotton/poly are what they all wore.
Try sewing this again on the same fabric scrap, and see if it washes out easily?

I'm interested in answers to this problem , too . A couple yrs ago I traced a quilting design . I used the blue water soluble marker and coats and clark hand quilting thread [ I was hand quilting ]. Well the ink transfered to the thread and would not disappear . Good thing it was just a practice piece . Annie
