Polyester!!!
I am working on a charity project for a policeman killed in action. His widow wants the two granddaughters to each have a quilt made from his uniforms...which are polyester. I am making a 40X40 wallhanging with nine 12" star blocks arranged 3X3 with strips in between. The blocks are a combination cotton and poly and the strips in between will be polyester. I am afraid it will ripple and never lay flat. Am considering using the flip and sew method right onto the batting. Any ideas? Anyone work with polyester?
Thanks.
Jean
Thanks.

I used cotton polyester broadcloth for children's drag-a-long quilts years ago. They sewed up fine and are still going strong and not faded from 20 years ago.
If the fabric is totally polyester just be careful not to iron it. A flip and sew method would work well if you are worried about it shifting.
