Pot Holder Quilts
#1
I belong to a group that likes to make charity quilts. We have lately been working on pot holder quilts. These are quilts made from completely finished blocks about the size of pot holders and simply stitched together. Thereby you only have to make a bunch of small quilts and not one very large one. The block sizes range from 8" to 14".
We are making 12&1/2" blocks and will sew them together for donation quilts to charitys for raffle so they can make money for their cause.
If you click on this link, http://www.bakersfieldquiltguild.org...o-gallery.html then put "Don Beld" in the search line, you will find his quilts there when he was at our guild as a speaker. That is a little bother to see his quilts, but it is worth doing. He is quite a fellow and does wonderful work with the vets. Put his name in your own google search and you will see how involved he is.
We are having a lot of fun making these little blocks. I find that they are great if you want to try out a block to see if it is easy or you like it. Then, if you don't like it, it was not a waste of fabric or time.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the site. You might consider looking at the other photos in the gallery as our build makes some pretty wonderful quilts. Lois

To see a picture try this link. I tried to copy/paste the pictures off the guild website but was unsuccessful. So, try this link: http://www.bakersfieldquiltguild.org...ilts-1794.html
