Prairie points??
#1
Those of you that have made prairie points to put around the quilt edge--is there a way to determine the amount of yardage you will need for them? I don't want to start cutting up my fabric and get almost done and come up short. I am making a quilt for the Pheasants Forever banquet, to be auctioned off; I have the top done, and want to add the prairie points to make it a little more special. And I only have a month to finish it off; so don't need any problems.

If you look at my shamrock quilt, it has two-color continuous prairie points around it. Here's a pix. It's not the best for viewing the points directly, but you'll get the idea. And I was extra cautious and added about 6 extra inches, but I'm nowhere near as good as KLue!

I haven't gotten to that level, but do love your prairie points! How do you know when and where to use them?? I guess I'd have to see more than Klue's and your quilt to get creative. Anyone else have some to show?
Being a part of the clan, where can you find good quality shamrock fabric? Everything I find is more decorative, less quality.
