Question about Accuquilt dies, esp. Value Die
#1
I have a lot of small scraps from my 1930's repro. fabrics and want to use them on the value die. Does the entire die need to be covered with fabric? If is does, how is the best way to get just the 2 1/2 square cut out. So far, I have only used the 6 1/2 inch tumbler on my Accuquilt.
I would like to use the square to make a small, scrappy 9 patch.

I cut my fabric into 3 in strips and use them that way. As long as the mat covers ALL of the blades on all the shapes your good. Either way your gonna get cut marks on the mat whether you use fabric on the remainer of the die or not.

Thank you! I wasn't sure if you could just cover part of the blade with fabric or all of it. I have come very close to wearing out my first gray mat. I may save it for that die.

If you can find the White mats those last longer. The grey mats which will no longer be made are IMHO worthless. They wear out alot faster than the white ones. Also when you can find the mats on sale stock up..
