Question about insulated batting
I can't remember the brand name of this batting. It has the silver layer on each side so it's insulated. I was going to buy it to make potholders. But on the package instructions it says it's okay for lunchboxes, sweaters, and the like but do not use to make potholders. For the life of me, I don't know why I didn't read this before purchasing. So my question is could I use for pot holders if I sandwich the silver batting between two layers of regular batting? Or should I just call it a wash and not use for that purpose.
If I should under no circumstances use it for potholders what do you recommend for use?
Thanks!

The product you have is made for insulation, not for protection from heat.
They've given you some suggestions on the labelling that you have read.
... stretching that a bit further, you could make an insulated grocery bag, to bring refrigerated/frozen foods home from the grocery store.
A trip to their website, and you might come up with some more ideas ... and patterns.

I agree with QuiltE, if it says not to use it for potholders, then don't. It's that simple. Another idea of what you could use it for would be a small insulated bag (or is it a sack in Florida? )to take your lunch to work/the park/a class/etc in. There are lots of free patterns available.

If it's insulbrite then it's ok because emblibrary.com recommends it for that. I've heard where others go ahead and use the batting on each side anywhays so it wouldn't hurt. I can't remember what the steps for emb calls for; I'll be making them soon, I've already bought the stuff.
