question about velcro
My original post got pulled. I broke a rule. As I was asking, what is the best type of velcro to use to close something like a cosmetic bag.
My customer tried the iron on kind and was unhappy with it. Thank you

I had quite a length of self-stick velcro in my notions. I tried sewing it onto several items that I had made and ended up with a sticky mess on my needle. Then the thread stuck to the needle and broke. I threw that velcro into the trash! I'll never use it again

Velcro does wear out. Heat/dirt/use take it's toll on it. I'd recommend getting the sew-in type vs. the stick on type. The stick on (in my experience) doesn't hold up well and you end up sewing it anyhow and then have sticky needles to deal with!

I haven't used it in quite awhile. if they just have improved it and given more of a flat edging to sew on, I wouldn't mind trying it again. trying to stitch on the skinny, skinny flat edge is frustrating. that area shouldn't make your needle sticky though if it is the sew on kind.
