QUILT BLOCK PLAQUES
#1
I have noticed when riding through the mountains that some people have small to large plaques on their barns or houses that look like a quilt block. I was wondering where you can purchase these.

Dozens of barns around here have them. I guess it's the latest fad. Two people I know painted their own on pieces of plywood. One is a whole quilt painted across 2 4 x 8 sheets of plywood. The other is just one quilt block painted on a smaller piece. They look very pretty mounted on the side of the barn.
I suppose that would only work for old wooden barns. Most hubbies would probably freak if you tried to mount a board to the side of a nice metal machine shed.

There is actually a "quilt tour" in this area of barns painted with quilt blocks. At the Quilt Expo in Knoxville they had a quilt of small blocks that were replicas of each of the barn blocks and there was a raffle for it..... I didn't win... In Amish country in Pennsylvania you will see something similar, there are "hexes" or hex signs on the barns.. they are lovely.

This is not for plaques or painting on barns but Quilt in a Day has a block club on making a barn quilt that shows barns with blocks on them.
You dont have to join and the videos are free to watch.
