I received my Quilt for Kids from Downy in late Nov, so it got put aside. I decided to do as a quick project before anything else.
Has anyone else found the fabrics cut funny? The blue strips for making the four patch squares are cut off grain. I have to use them, but it is careful work not to sew them wonky. The 6 1/2" squares are not square. They were cut by drawing on the fabric, not by a machine and the size varies from block to block. I will get it done, I hope, but it's all making it harder than it should be. Anyone else?

I've done a few. Just do the best you can. When you do another one you might want to use fabric from your stash. That way you can use the pattern of your choice and have control of the cutting. I'm sure that the workers making up the kits are volunteers. A non quilter doesn't understand the importance of the "straight of grain". This is such a good cause. My hat's off to you for donating you time. :)
