To quilt or not to quilt? Table Topper/Tree Skirt dilemma.
I put together this quilt to use as a tree skirt, but didn't have time to quilt it before Christmas. Then I couldn't bear to slice it in the middle to fit around the tree! So I laid it on the kitchen table, and put a sheet of clear plastic over it for a tablecloth. We enjoyed it on the table, but you don't get the full effect of the woven borders....
I really wanted it as a tree skirt, but all I'd have to do for a table topper is stitch the quilt top to a backing and turn it right side out. Done. I have a smaller tree skirt already, but this one is 54" x 54" from tip to tip and would look better under a fuller tree... Now I'm thinking I could add another border to it to square it up and use it as a lap quilt! Hmmm.
I guess I could make two more quilts just like it! Then I'd have one for the topper, one for the tree skirt, and one for a lap quilt to match... What would you do?
