Have you ever done 2-sided bindings? I think you use one fabric for one side and another fabric for the other side. What width do you use for each strip? My granddaughter is doing this for her 4-H project and we aren't sure of the strip widths. Thanks.

Here's a tutorial I found. http://www.instructables.com/id/Two-Tone-Quilt-Binding/
Here's one with a video: http://www.graspr.com/videos/How-to-...o-Your-Quilt-2
Doesn't look too difficult

Take the binding width you always use, divide by two and add 1/4 inch to each strip.
Example:
If you always use a binding 2.5 inches wide, cut two strips that are 1.25 + .25 =1.5 each
At The Quilt Show Bonnie Browning shows how to do it. It is show 609.

Attention JudyG: We have tried the instructions you recommended. But we have a question. One side of the binding is 1/2 in wide and the other side is 1 inch wide when completed. This is a 4-H quilt to be judged at the fair. We thought that both sides of the binding were suppose to be of equal width. Please give us some more advice and thank you.

When I do it, each side ends up 1/2". Are you being careful with your 1/4" seam when you sew the two pieces together? Cut the strip for the front binding 1" and the strip for the back binding 2". After sewing the two pieces together, it should measure 2-1//2". Fold that in half, wrong sides together, and it should measure 1-1/4". The front side should have both colors on it, the color for the back side being 1/2" and the color for the front being 3/4". Lay the two color side against the front of your quilt and stitch 1/4", which will leave each side of your binding 1/2". If you're still having problems with it, send me a PM. Good Luck.
