quilting stitches tearing out!
#1
So my MIL made my hubby a quilt for his high school graduation. She didn't get it actually finished until 4 years ago (10 years after he graduated!) She pieced the top and sent it to someone to be quilted. It is quilted with a sorta shell design with invisible thread on top and cotton on the bottom. The only problem is, that now the invisible thread is slicing thru the cotton thread in places. This quilt has only been used a little and been washed a couple of times. I'm not sure what to do about this and if there is anything I can do. It is happening all over the quilt. Any help would be appreciated!

That's a shame  I would take it to a longarmer and let them requilt it on top of the first quilting using all cotton thread. The pattern could probably be followed close enough. It's better then the quilt being unusable.

Yes, I agree - the quilter is responsible. This is why you should be careful when mixing poly and cotton. What a shame! If it can't be got back to the original quilter to be fixed then I'd have it requilted. I'm so sorry!
